Do you ever wonder how information “works”?

Then this course is for you. In the first half of the term, you will learn how and why information of all types is produced, who it is created for, where it is found, and who is excluded from this world. By exploring these “conventions of scholarship” you will gain confidence in navigating the many different digital and analog information tools available to you at W&L and beyond.

In the second half of the term, the “experiential learning lab” component, students will focus solely on the practical part of guiding classmates through the information and scholarship landscape, applying concepts from the first half of term to real life assignments in real time. Through both a consultation model and a point-of-need model, students will become comfortable with information exploration and organization.

This course is 1 credit, and fulfills 1 EXP credit.
